The Ullen Museum was inaugurated on March 1 1997 in the Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
"Ullen Sentalu" is an acronym for philosophy in Javanese "Ulating Blencong Sejanting Tataraning Lumaku" which means "light is a guide to the path of life"
The Ullen Sentalu Museum is a space for cultural dialogue from the past, present, and future. The Mataram dynasty became the source of Javanese philosophy, art ,and culture.
The Ullen Museum has a lot of history. This museum has a choice of tours, there is an Adiluhung Mataram tour to go to the guwa sela Giri area and the goat village. And for the Vorstenlanden tour to go to the Djagad Galler, Esther Huis, and Sasana Sekar Bawana areas.
Through the Adiluhung Mataram tour, visitors are brought into the dimensions of history, art, culture, Javanese philosophy of the four palaces through paintings, photographs, batik, and other collections narrated by museum educators.

"Vorstenlanden" which means "Land of the Kings". The Vorstenlanden tour invites visitors to witness the golden era of the Yogyakarta Sultanate and Surakarta Kasunaan and get to know the Indis culture, the Dutch-Javanese-Chinese acculturation culture that was specifically born in Java.
The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from08.30 am to 4.00 pm. On Mondays, the museum is closed.
